“Late in the Morning”
As the title says, I saw this man sitting on a bench just before noon. He was totally wrapped in thought, and did not mind me sketching him. I snapped a few pics, too, and took it all back home to my studio to create the painting. His gaze and body language were so poignant and moving, and that is what I tried to capture.

You certainly did capture it, Terry! Fun that you were able to do some sketching of him first – that can make the outcome easier, I think.
Thanks, Joani. He had some deep shadows, and I really wanted to get them right.
That’s another wonderful portrait Terry. I find this one very ‘real’ and sad…I wonder what he was pondering? Well done….beautifully painted. Xx
Thank you, Carole. I wondered the same thing, and as I painted him, I really felt for him.
Beautifully painted as always Terry. And you also convey so much emotion and character in your pieces. Just wonderful. Love his watch!
Thanks so much, Sherry!
