“Ready to Ride”
This jockey’s expression epitomizes to me the engaged attitude of someone who loves to ride racehorses. As I painted his silks, his whole persona seemed to come alive.

This is wonderful, Terry!! You need to have a racetrack exhibition and put all these together as a theme – I would think that a gallery would jump at the chance to show your work.
Thanks, Joani. I am in the midst of a “series,” more by accident than design. My husband thinks I should follow your suggestion. It’s a fun thought….
Or I was just thinking – perhaps approach the management and do more of the jockeys and have them buy and display the whole lot of them around the facility.
There are definitely some possibilities there.
Oooo, a jockey! Wonderful Terry. He really looks like a winner. Love the way you faded the bottom. Agree a show of your series should be happening!
Thanks, Sherry. I seem to be drawn to all the characters at the racetrack! They are full of personality.
Terrific Terry, the shirt is wonderful as is the whole painting. Joani is right about how brilliant these would be in an exhibition
Thank you, Lorraine. I’ll definitely give it some thought.
