“Asleep in Edinburgh”
We visited Scotland last year, and this man sleeping on a bench in Edinburgh embodied for me a balance of softness and roughness that I could easily visualize in a painting. He was a perfect model, as I sketched him while he slept. I took several photos to bring back with me to the studio, because I really wanted to capture the light, which fell on him like a blanket.

Terry, so amazing. I love the earth tones with the blues, just wonderful!
Thanks, Sherry. The combination of the two colors always looks so good together.
Exactly the word that came to me, Terry – you have come SO far!
Thank you, Joani. Always a journey, right?
Brilliant Terry, great subject that he stayed asleep too LOL
Thanks, Lorraine. If only all our subjects could be so still!
