“Only Herself”
This young woman’s downward gaze, combined with the bright sun providing top and back lighting upon her, imparted a pensive mood to her persona that stimulated my curiosity. As I added my paints, she sort of drew me in. I just loved her quirky manicure, and I allowed my paints to impart her unique-ness, and a solitary moment.

Terry, this is amazing you’ve really captured a moment with this gal and the anatomy and appendages are so lifelike. Excellent!
Thanks, Joani. She was enchanting to paint – and I felt like I got to know her well.
I totally get that!
I know that has been your experience with portraits, too, Joani.
Gosh Terry, another stunner portrait. I wonder if you ever get anything ordinary from your painting because every time you show us your latest it never fails to make me say WOW
You’re too kind, Lorraine. I try to go for the ordinary and the everyday. To my eyes, that’s where the wow lies. Thanks so much!
Wow, she’s very cool Terry. I love that she’s a little backlit, with her blonde hair, just great.
Thank you, Sherry. I usually don’t paint backlit, but I liked it, and like the effects, too.
