“Pink Hoodie”
I approached this painting with a come-from-behind angle. Her pensive, downward gaze had a certain thoughtfulness that caught my attention and made me wonder about her. Her shaded profile and lustrous hair also spoke to me, and served to guide me as to where to place my most prominent hues.

Love your perspective, Terry and that you did this landscape rather than portrait. You’ve captured everything so well and the hair reminds me of your own – very lovely!
Thank you, Joani, although I do think her hair looks much nicer than mine. 🙂
Gorgeous Terry! I love that slight bit of profile showing. And what a lush palette of subtle colors, just wonderful.
Thanks so much, Sherry. It was a bit of a challenge, I must admit.
Yes muted tones but all in the right places as ever Terry
I wanted to highlight her, and her hair turned out being a major focus. Thanks, Lorraine.
I love that hair! And the painting is just wonderful =D. You have a great talent, Terry!
Kisses 🙂
As always, thank you for checking in on my blog, Aymara!
Terry, I LOVE this painting! the hair is so rich and textural. a nice variety of lights and darks. And i find myself fascinated with The subtle vertical lines in the bg! amazing!
Thanks for your comments, Wyna. I struggled with the bg initially, and finally settled on the vertical lines, which I thought read the best.
