“Happy”
After spending an afternoon at the circus, I returned to my studio with many sketches and photos. I was taken by this clown, whose painted face and expression offered an ironic twist to the name that was on his hat. I saturated my hues more than I normally do, to draw out the colors of his face and costume, and help re- create the circus atmosphere. He was incredibly emotive, and yet quite friendly to everyone. The children loved him.

The best yet – OMG, Terry, this is fantastic!!
Thanks, Joani!
Oh I wanted to say the same as Joani, in fact Terry your work is always stunning and how lucky am I to have seen you on your journey for more than two years now. This work could be on exhibit in a children’s hospital and would make everyone have a bit of happiness for a while
Thank you, Lorraine. We all have a special bond, and we have grown, you are so right.
Wow, Terry, this piece is stunning. Love your bright colors this time. You are amazing at combining art and emotion. I can imagine I would get very confused with the face paint on top of the skin tones!
It was definitely a challenge, Sherry, and I wasn’t sure I would pull it off. But sometimes it seemed the painting painted itself. Thanks for your comments!
What a special sensitivity on that face… I love your performance on this painting!
Regards, Terry!
Many thanks, Aymara. Thanks for visiting!
I am so bad at commenting but I love your paintings, they are just fantastic. This one is amazing and another one that struck me was the older woman from the market, just really seemed like you captured her essence.
Thank you so much, NA. I’m glad we can keep up with each other, even if it’s through our blogs. Hopefully our paths will cross again sometime, soon.
