“Stormy”
I visited the circus a few weeks ago, intent on sketching some clowns in action. But in addition to that, sitting near me, was this mother and child. The baby’s face mesmerized me, and I tried to capture her fretfulness. With an unsettled sky and storm approaching, the background served as a perfect foil to this moment.

Awww…lots of emotion and tension in this piece Terry! Wow, you always do that so well. Love the colors and background, amazing.
Thanks, Sherry. I tried to tie in the background tension to the moment – I’m glad it hit you that way.
I really like this, Terry. You’ve successfully captured two emotions and you can only see one of the faces – the fear of the little one and the comfort of the mommy. Well done!
Thank you, Joani. I felt like I didn’t need the mother’s face to convey the meaning. I’m glad you like it!
Sensitive work, brilliant Terry, you have certainly honed your talent for portraiture
Many thanks, Lorraine. I so love creating watercolor portraits. It totally envelops me. I’m glad you liked this.
Woww, it’s an amazing portrait! Nothing sweeter than a mother with her baby… and you just got the essence of it… I love it ♥
Kisses!
Thank you, Aymara! I appreciate that.
This one is so emotional and well executed! This may be my fav painting of yours. Great job and story.
Thanks so much, Connie. I really really enjoyed painting this baby, and her mother holding her so close.
