“Last Week of Summer”
The hot summer sun and wind played across this young girl’s face, and as she brushed her hair from her face, I tried to catch the moment. I complemented her warmer skin pigments with the pale green in her shirt and the cools around her. I pushed parts of her into the background, and kept her delicate with a simple composition. Winner of the Howard Coopersmith Memorial Award at the 33rd Annual Adirondacks National Exhibition of American Watercolors, 2014.
