“Intermezzo”
When I spotted this man outside a local performing arts center, I immediately saw a painting and did a quick sketch. Back in my studio, as I painted this work, the shadows that played across his visage revealed more of the story. Using complementary colors for interest, I allowed some added texture to help the eye travel around and pique the imagination.

Terry, such beautiful skin tones and shadows. Love the colors you chose as well. So nice!
Thanks, Sherry! Sometimes you have a plan, but the painting changes that and tells you what to do. That’s what happened here.
Trying to catch up on all the lovely blog posts these past few days, Terry your style is so dependable – of course your talent too!. Another great portrait, the sunnies and cool drink tell the story
Thanks for your comments, as always, Lorraine. You always “get it.”
