“Walking Tall”
As this man walked, he exuded a ton of self-confidence and attitude. The shadows that fell on him seemed to enhance the whole mood. I love to play with color, and his character afforded me ample opportunity to explore and create. This painting is exhibiting at the Philadelphia Watercolor Society’s 113th Anniversary International Exhibition, 2013.

Love the sunnies, Terry. You have such a flair for choosing a palette that creates balance in your portraits
Thank you, Lorraine, for the palette feedback. I decided on the shade for the sunnies almost impulsively, so I’m glad it reads well!
Terry, you really captured an attitude. The green shades compliment his skin tone so well. This piece looks like it was fun.
Thanks, Sherry. As the painting progressed, I found myself relaxing more. Guess that’s a good sign.
