“Blue Skies”
On a cloudless day, it was the deep shadows and light that fell on this woman that inspired me to try my hand painting her. Several alternate glazes of cerulean blue and yellow ochre gave the sky and background their hues, and I took my artistic license (and pigments) to explore skin tones and ultimately to tell a story.

So many exceptional bits to this one Terry, it’s a lovely image
Thank you, Lorraine. I really enjoyed painting her.
Terry, I think this might be my favorite of all! I just love her face, and the way you planned and painted the piece.
Thanks so much, Sherry. I tried to be careful not to overdo the shadows.
How very lovely Terry. She is absolutely perfect!
Thanks, Anne! Sometimes it’s good to start with a good model, too!
