“The Archivist”

The Archivist

Sometimes when light hits a subject, the shadows become magical, and very enticing to paint. This kind man is the archivist of Kibbutz Kfar Blum in Israel, where he lovingly preserves and protects the photos, letters, stories, and history of all the people who have been involved in the establishment of this settlement. We spent a fascinating time with him, and I appreciated his dedication and personal concern in his role when I painted him.
