“Break Even Saturday”
This gentleman caught my eye (and lens) one hot afternoon at the racetrack. I used many warm pigments in this painting to mark the heat of the day that was so manifest in his face and body. With cooler pigments in his clothing and a prism of colors in the background, I tried to characterize the encounter that my original snapshot caught.
