“John’s Shades”
My inspiration to paint came from a simple photo taken in the park in London several years ago. I isolated John from the rest of the photo and made his interesting face and shadows my focus. Some of the lines and contours on his face lent themselves to my imagination, and I really enjoyed introducing the many hues to create his countenance. This painting exhibited at the New Hope Art League’s Annual Juried Show, 2013.

love the glasses on him Terry, you always have a great background application which allow the portrait to shine, your eye for a good subject is highly tuned and it is fabulous to see your work
Thank you so much, Lorraine. I try to find a subject that is interesting, that someone can stop and think about, someone that stimulates thoughts, not just a pretty portrait. I appreciate you feedback.
He’s a really interesting piece Terry, not just a pretty portrait as you said. Love the direction you’re going with your work.
Thanks, Sherry. Challenging but always fun.
