“The Weight”
The inspiration for this painting came from a photograph by Lee Brown, who runs the on-line photography, art, and travel blog called A Day Not Wasted. He issues monthly challenges to artists to paint their interpretations of one of his amazing photos, and then posts everyone’s submissions in a gallery on his site. I did this painting based on October 2012’s challenge and I must say that this young man’s face had a certain countenance and disquiet that compelled me to paint him.
