“Halloween Party”
From an old family photo that must have been from the 1940s, this is my second cousin. I couldn’t tell if he was having a good time or if the camera happened to have caught him in an ambiguous expression; but that was the moment I wanted to capture in this painting. The disunion between being in masquerade at a party and the look on his face seemed worth trying to convey. This painting exhibited at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences National Juried Competition: Works on Paper, 2013.

Another portrait that well depicts the moment you describe Terry, in fact each of your portraits tell their story so well, your painting talent and your thoughtful look into the reference photo is what results in your lovely work
Thanks for such nice feedback, Lorraine.
Terry, I was just remembering this piece. Love it!
Thanks as always, Sherry.
