“Street Music”
This lone trumpeter plays all day long at the same busy street corner downtown. The sounds of passing traffic serve as a unique accompaniment to his solitary strains. Painting him from my black and white photograph, I tried to exploit the fluid qualities of my watercolors to achieve a special harmony between color, line, and space. I am proud to announce that this painting won this year’s Roberta Palmer Memorial Award at the Greater Norristown Art League‘s 71st Annual Juried Exhibition. The exhibition ran in May, 2013.
